Traffic Calming Project - 2001
City of Tempe Neighborhood
A street redesign to enhance community identity, to slow through-traffic
and to visually unify the Sunset Riverside neighborhood. Tempe,
AZ
Tributary Wall - 1999
1200' 1. x 10' h. Concrete and glass block, river rock,
corten steel. Goldwater Boulevard West Couplet, Scottsdale,
AZ.

The buffer wall is of a site specific nature and is conceptually
inspired by the wall's close proximity to the canal. Seven
steel fish of various sizes ranging from 18' to 9' long are
anchored to the wave-like wall. Natural sunlight filters through
the glass block and perforated scale pattern, highlighting
each fish as the sun sets. The project received the Valley
Forward Association Crescordia Award for Environmental Excellence
and The Orchid Award in 1999.
Hummingbird Sanctuary Park - 1995
Approximately 150' 1. x 30' w. Concrete, steel, rebar, river
rock, trumpet vines. Civic Center Boulevard, East Couplet,
City of Scottsdale, AZ.

Five Trumpet Vine Column sculptures are placed within the
plaza area. Trumpet vines attached to each column attract
hummingbirds to the site. The park plaza was designed as a
shady respite for residents of the adjacent neighborhood and
nursing home and as a place to enjoy nature and bird watching.
The project received the Valley Forward Association Crescordia
Award for Environmental Excellence.
Staring into the Sun - 1996
30' l x 16'w. Rebar, river rock, steel.
Chandler Public Library. Chandler, AZ. Atrium space installation
that can be viewed from ground level and from different floors
of the library. Viewers can walk around the piece and see
the entire installation on upper levels. Illuminated by overhead
skylight.

Palm Columns - 1997
Steel, river rock, Town Center Medical Plaza. Scottsdale,
AZ
A Courtyard Installation. Four Sculptures attached to structural
columns at various heights above ground level. Installation
can be viewed from the ground level courtyard and second level
walkways.

The courtyard had preexisting palm trees and this sculpture
installation reflects this imagery through fabricated river
rock cages that have steel baskets, also filled with native
river rock, with fabricated steel palm "tops"

Sound Barrier Wall, Treeguard and Treegrate - 1995

Bus Shelter - 1995
Approximately 9' h. x 15' 1.x 8' w. Steel, rebar, cast bronze,
river rock, copper.Goldwater Boulevard West Couplet.Scottsdale,
AZ

Two bus shelters were designed, fabricated and installed
by the artist, both located on Goldwater Boulevard. One is
located at at Indian School Road and the other just south
of Camelback Road. The structures received both the Orchid
Award and the Valley Forward Association Award of Merit for
Environmental Excellence.
Mesquite Wash - 1994
4'w x 40'l x 5'h.
Cast concrete, rebar, steel and river rock. Chandler Gilbert
Community College. Chandler, AZ.
This sculpture's linear design was inspired by the wash areas
within our desert and its location within a mesquite tree
landscaped courtyard. It provides a large seating area as
part of the artwork.

Ringer - 1994
15'w x 15'l x 25'h. Cast concrete, steel, river rock.
Sports Authority Plaza. Tempe, AZ. This installation incorporates
a horseshoe-shaped seating bench with a vertical column made
of steel and river rock to reflect a sports-related theme
for the Sports Authority Plaza in Tempe. Bench has integral
color with a plam leaf pattern (see details)
 
Sunnyslope Streetscape Project - 1991
Sidewalk with cast bronze inlay. Sunnyslope, AZ.
A series of cast bronze imagery, relating to local history
and transportation related themes, imbedded in pedestrian
walkways along Dunlap Avenue, between Central Avenue and Seventh
Street.
